      Linear doesn't have a product but you could check out Amazon. There are a number of aftermarket garage door opener wi-fi connection products available. You might want to check out the eKyro Smart Garage Door WiFi Controller amzn.to/3z8CyLr We haven't tested or used this item but it has gotten a lot of positive reviews. Full disclosure, we're also an Amazon Associate so if you use our link we may earn a small commission. There are also a number of other products that may work the same or better. We have plans to test some of these items in the near future and will post a video with the results. Best of luck.

    Great video. How can I extend the range on that receiver? Is there an antenna I can adapt?

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone 12 дней назад

      If you're experiencing range issues then check your operator and around your garage for CFL low energy light bulbs. When these bulbs aren't working properly they have been known to interfere with garage door opener radio receivers and could cause range issues. You could mount the radio receiver somewhere up closer to the header of the garage but you'd need to hook a transformer up to the receiver to supply power to it. You could also go with the MultiCode model 1099 which is a gate operator radio receiver and has stronger signal reception. Thanks for watching!

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone 15 дней назад

      Make sure you have a new battery in the remote and the visor clip is removed. The keypad needs to receive a strong signal from the remote & it sounds like it's not doing that. Also, use the flat backside of the remote when moving it around in front of the keypad instead of the nose or tip of the remote and you may project a stronger signal. If none of that works then I'd recommend that you open the remote. Use a dime to separate the two halves of the remote and open it. Inside you'll see two small buttons on the green logic control board. Choose the button you wish to use to program and use the green logic control board without the remote case to program the keypad. This will give you the strongest signal to program the keypad. Good luck. - Brian

    Hey there, I'm having some trouble getting the MDR/U to work with my Marantec Synergy 380. I have programmed two remotes to the MDR, but when attempting to actually wire the MDR into the Marantec, it doesn't seem to actually do anything. I can hear the MDR react to the button presses from the two remotes which signals that it is working, and even though the diagram says it doesn't matter the polarity of the wires being used, I've tried switching them around and wiring them directly into ports 4 and 3 on my Marantec, which is for the wall button unit, still no go. The Marantec becomes unresponsive to its own remotes and the wall unit and won't function until I detach the MDR from it after a power cycle. Please advise.

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone Месяц назад

      Curious why you are trying to hook up a Linear MDRU receiver to a Marantec Synergy 380? I've never attached an MDRU to a Synergy model operator so I'm not sure. You could try connecting the 2 wires from the MDRU to the back of the wall station. The wall station wires also go to 3 and 4 but maybe connecting to them will bypass an issue the logic board is having with the 2 MDRU wires being connected directly to 3 & 4.

    • @VivaLaTony06
      @VivaLaTony06 Месяц назад

      @@Garagedoorzone Thank you for the response. Long story somewhat shorter, after much quoting from several companies, my several times repaired garage door opener (Lift Master) finally kicked the bucket and the cheapest replacement overall (with labor) was this Marantec as this company did sell Chamberlain/Lift Master units. The downside is it obviously won't work with MyQ app anymore since Chamberlain took away the Linear functionality. This was my first option and then I heard the integration was broken again. I was hoping to use this Linear switch to enable functionality of two separate remote clickers I bought for two cars in my household that don't have Homelink functionality. The universal clickers work with up to two different brands, however, Marantec being Marantec, they have a locked ecosystem. I was hoping to circumvent that by wiring this Linear MDR directly into the terminals because the Linear was able to respond to the universal remotes.

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone Месяц назад

      @@VivaLaTony06 So if I'm understanding you, you have two garage door operators and one's Marantec Synergy and the other is Liftmaster and you want to be able to control both of them with the 2-button universal remotes you have. Is that correct?

    • @VivaLaTony06
      @VivaLaTony06 Месяц назад

      @@Garagedoorzone That is correct. Instead of having different remotes for each brand, I'd like to have one remote that controls both. It looks like it should be possible, but it's proving difficult

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone Месяц назад

      @@VivaLaTony06 Did you try attaching the wires directly to the wall station? Hindsight is 20/20 but it probably would've worked better to attach a Marantec radio receiver to the Liftmaster operator and then use the 2-button Marantec remote to control both. I'll test the MDRU on the Synergy operator when I get a chance and get back to you with the results. Perhaps there's something I'm not thinking of that may work.

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone 2 месяца назад

      I'm not sure what you mean by a different code. Each button on the remote typically has different codes unless they've been changed so both buttons are coded the same and work with the same operator. I'm assuming you have one 2-button remote and two Marantec operators. If that's the case then you can program the top button to one operator and follow the same instructions to program the bottom button to the 2nd operator.

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone 2 месяца назад

      If you are referring to the wall station (that has the open/close button, light button & lock-out button) then the 1st thing to check is the wiring. Check the two wires going into the operator have not been removed. If you installed a new 75424 Radio Receiver to your operator then the two wires that go from that receiver to the operator go into the same terminals that the wall station use (#3 & #4). If the two wires from the wall station are not in terminals #3 & #4 then reconnect them to those two terminals along with the two wires from the receiver and the wall station should work again.

    Would there ever be a 10ft operator with a 7ft door?

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone 2 месяца назад

      Are you asking about the overall length of the operator or what is called a 10' operator? There's a difference. For example, a 7' garage door operator is actually going to have an overall length of about 10'. While a 10' operator is going to be around 13' in overall length. So if you have a 7' operator on a 7' high garage door the overall length of the operator itself is going to be around 10'. That's why it's always important to measure the overall length of the belt when it's laid out on the floor so you get the correct belt and not the length of the operator. If you are asking if an actual 10' operator (which would be around 13' long) would ever be used on a 7' high garage door the answer is yes. It would be rare but there are some situations where it would make sense. For instance, if there was a beam or duct that was 10' back into the garage & it just happened to be right where the powerhead of the 7' opener would get mounted then it may make sense to use a longer 10' operator rail so the powerhead could be mounted on the other side of the obstruction. Hope this answers your question.

      @Garagedoorzone 3 месяца назад

      I've never heard of a Marantec 252. That being said, the Marantec operators hold the code of ONE remote. All additional remotes need to be programmed by copying the code of the programmed remote using the 3-prong programming connector. If you don't have any existing remotes then you can program a new remote directly into the operator without erasing any previous remotes that may have been stored in the operator. If this is done then the operator will automatically erase the previously stored remote code and store the new remote code in the operator.

      Usually that indicates that the remote is a different frequency than the radio receiver or the radio receiver is bad. Depending on which model of operator you have you should find the receiver in a slot on top of the operator. Make sure that the frequency printed on the back of the remote (and it has to be a Marantec remote) is the same frequency that's printed on the radio receiver. If they're not the same then it won't work. If the frequencies are the same then most likely the receiver is bad. If you have a Synergy model operator or a M4500e or 4700e (note the "e" on the end of the model number) then you can still get a replacement receiver. If you have a model that is older than that then you'll need to add an external radio receiver like the Marantec 75424 Receiver Set. You can watch an installation video we have on that here: ruclips.net/video/H6C1KmvCltY/видео.htmlsi=-UERqKiKgyoBJp8i

      Beautiful. Your description is very precise. I have a M4500e operating at 315MHz. The new remote I purchased was at 304MHz. This resolved my original problem where the new remote does not show rapid flash. Since then I have found one of the original working remote. My question now is how to clone the other remotes(315MHz). Should I use the receiver to set the new remote or use the three prong to copy the code over?

      @@williamchou2277 The operator holds the code for ONE remote. If you wish to add additional remotes then you will use the 3-prong programming connector to transfer the code from the programmed remote to the additional remote(s).

      Did the keypad pick up the code from the remote before you entered your PIN during programming? If you haven't done so we suggest putting a brand new battery in the remote before programming the keypad. Also remove the visor clip from the remote. If that doesn't work then open the remote. Inside you'll see the green circuit board. On the circuit board is the small remote button. Use that button (with the case of remote off) during the programming. Sometimes the case of the remote itself can cause interference.

    What to do when programming remote and 7 is not rapidly blinking?

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone 4 месяца назад

      Is the remote a Marantec branded remote? Is the remote the same frequency as the radio receiver? If the answer to both is yes then you can try pulling the radio receiver out, pushing it back in and try programming the remote again. If that doesn't work then the radio receiver is most likely bad & needs to be replaced.

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone 4 месяца назад

      Yes and no. If you only have one remote then the answer is no, it's not possible. If you happen to have 2 remotes then it is possible. You would connect the two remotes and then transfer the code from the top button of Remote 1 to the top button on Remote 2. After you do that, you could then transfer the code from the top button on Remote 1 to the bottom button on Remote 2 and then transfer the code from the top button on Remote 2 to the bottom button on Remote 1. Sounds confusing but in the end you would have all 4 buttons (2 on each remote) programmed to the same operator.
